The Chicken Biryani is a traditional Indian dish made out of rice, spices, masala, and chicken. Different parts of India have different varieties of chicken biryani which tastes different in different regions. It is one of the most preferred dishes all over India. Every non-vegetarian must have tasted the chicken biryani. The rice mixed with the masala and the spices and the juice of the chicken melt in your mouth. The Muslims are the ones who founded this dish, and it has become famous all across India. Chicken Biryani served with boiled eggs, boiled brinjal (Eggplant) and salad which consists of curd and onions.
The ingredients used in biryani vary from region to region. The rice which is usually used to make biryani is basmati rice and Jeera rice. These rice are said to be the tastiest rice, and it also gives a nice flavor to the dish. The Jeera rice has a better digestion rate. The next ingredients used in biryani is the meat. Based on what biryani you are going to cook, you need to get the appropriate meet. People use Chicken, Mutton, and beef to cook biryani. The spices give the biryani desired flavor, some of the spices used while making biryani are cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, pepper.
Mint leaves are also added in a large quantity to bring the taste. Other ingredients include onions, tomatoes, green chili, coriander, and garlic. A lot of ghee is also used to mix all these ingredients. In some parts of India, people add cashews and raisins to the biryani.
To cook biryani, you need a large vessel in which you need to put a considerable amount of ghee. You can also use oil instead of ghee. Then you need to slowly add in all the spices and stir the spices till it mixes well with the ghee. By now you will be getting a sweet aroma of the spices and ghee. Now you need to add the onions and stir it till it becomes brownish, after adding the onions you need to add the green chili and ginger- garlic paste. Then you add the tomato and leave it to mix with the other added ingredients.
Now you need to add the rice to this and mix it well so that all the masala and spices merges well with the rice. Finally, you add the meat and stir the mixture. After mixing you need to add water to the rice and chicken to boil. Close the container till the rice and chicken get cooked.
After it gets cooked, add little ghee and cashew for a better taste and serve it hot.
